About me!

Hello! I am Allison, but I go by my middle name Claire. I am from Atlanta, Ga originally, but I've lived in Ponte Vedra, outside of Jacksonville, for 12 years, and my mother lives in Tampa, Fl. I am in my second year at FSU, and I'm an English Education major. During my senior year of High School I lived in the Czech Republic, in a small town named Prostejov.

During school my class was the experimental group because typically new software and ways of testing a teaching were practiced on us. We got to be exposed to the first smart-boards at our school, and new studying websites. We were some of the first generations of kids who grew up with such a rapid change in technology in such a short amount of time. I am grateful for that! Being used to adapting to technological changes gives me an advantage with my students.

In this class I hope to learn about the new technology that is slowly becoming standard in this day and age. I hope to also learn more about effectively balancing out usage of technology in a classroom, and how to supplement our own teaching, instead of replacing it. Technology can be so useful, and really change the lives of the students using it.

    1. Hello, Claire! Finally I see your post...It seems like you had a lot of good experiences of using technology in class. Yes! As you said, technology should used for some good reasons. :-) And you'll be the person who makes the decision as a teacher.
